We at the Thibodaux Volunteer Fire Department are proud of the way our community has come together and faced adversity as one Thibodaux family during this global pandemic. While these last few months have brought about a new normal, our department has remained steadfast in serving our community. We have continued to provide our full range of fire protection, rescue, and other services during COVID-19 while also working to ensure the safety of our members. Of that we are also proud.

During this time, we as a department also made the unprecedented decision to cancel our annual Thibodaux Volunteer Fireman’s Fair for the safety of our members and our community. While the lack of a fair is a huge financial loss to our department, we are able to survive this loss without impacting services to our community thanks to the prudent financial decision-making of our leadership and the mission of remaining good stewards of the public’s money and trust.

We have received many calls and messages of support, and we greatly appreciate the creative ways in which our community has continued showing that support in light of these challenging times. We are excited to announce that the 2020 raffle drawing will be held on Sunday, September 20 at 3:00 pm at the Thibodaux Fireman’s Fair Grounds. The drawing will be live streamed for public viewing.

As always, we are also accepting donations from members of the community via our annual fundraising campaign. Often times this is the preferred method for members of our community who cannot make it to the fairgrounds. While we were not able to gather together as a community at the fairgrounds this year, we still appreciate the monetary support of our Thibodaux family. If you would like to make a donation to the department, send a check to PO Box 1055, Thibodaux LA 70302 or using one of the two donation buttons linked to the TVFD PayPal account and/or GoFundMe account at top of this page. Like some of you, some of us are also facing financial uncertainty, so we understand you may be unable to donate at this time. Donations can be made at any time.

For 162 years our community has depended on neighbors helping neighbors. As firefighters, that’s who we are…neighbors helping neighbors. It takes many diverse members of this community to provide fire service. If you would like more information on how to join, please contact us at . We are always looking for more of our neighbors to “Become Something Greater” by joining our ranks.

We all are wishing for better days to come, and slowly but surely, they are coming.  We look forward to seeing you all on the fairgrounds in 2021. Until then, let’s all do our part so that we can get together to “Stop, Drop and Let the Good Times Roll!”

Your neighbors,

Thibodaux Volunteer Fire Department
